To determine what house you will find you will need to determine what exactly you want in your new house.  Making a list of things you require and absolutely must have are a plus.  Considerations on this list must be denoted to your entire family as well.  The location for example will determine the type of schools your children will be provided education from and also determine the distance in which you will have to travel to work from.  All of these things will add up in the end, so make sure the things you really need are on this list, along with the things you want but could live without.  Having both in front of you when finding a new house will make your decision a great deal easier.

 

The next thing to determine is whether or not you want to find a house on your own or through an agent.  If you feel that you can do it on your own then more power to you.  Know that access to some houses on the market won’t be available to you as they are listed through agents directly.  So at some point you will more then likely have to make a phone call to an agent, unless you happen to purchase a house that is for sale by owner.  If you decide that you want an agent, you can find a variety of sources of finding someone that will represent you effectively.  Resources to find agents include by word of mouth from your friends and family, online sites, advertisements and even in your local newspaper.
